Viewers Guide to Amgen Tour of California Race Week
Spectators, volunteers, residents, visitors, businesses, sponsors, media, cycling enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys special events and community support.
Cycling fans can begin plotting their roadside viewing points along the 2019 Amgen Tour of California route.

- Men’s Stage 2 finish in South Shore 133-mile stage features more than 15,000 feet of climbing.
- Top places to watch include: Cornelian Dr. and Hwy 89, Luther Pass, Ski Run Blvd.
- Watching the Stage 2 Start in Rancho Cordova? Receive a free hat at the Visit Rancho Cordova Booth, then travel to the finish in South Lake Tahoe to receive a pin at the Tahoe South Booth.

Monday, May 13
- Men’s Stage 2 starts at approximately 9:20 a.m. from Rancho Cordova with a 3:35 p.m. finish.
- Finish Line Festival at Heavenly’s California Base Lodge from 12 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Awards and press conference to follow.
- Recommend to arrive earlier if you want to catch the finish.
Lake Tahoe is one of the country’s top cycling destination that attracts top athletes and Olympians from around the world including 125 cyclists competing in the Amgen Tour of California. These champions will climb, descend and break away along steep and winding stretches of the Sierra at speeds up to 50 mph.
Temporary Road Closures
Event organizers plan for minimal traffic delays, Monday, May 13 between 3-4 p.m. with rolling road closures at intersections along the course and Pioneer Trail. Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to host viewing parties and cheer for racers as they pass. Officials advise to plan for 30 minutes on each side of an intersection arrival time, and to plan ahead. More details visit: https://tahoesouth.com.
The free start/finish line festival features exhibitors, family activities, awareness education for cancer and cardiovascular, and food/beverage for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to carpool or bike.
