Additional guests can be added to their special day, including the ceremony site (170 more), rehearsal dinner (28 more) and lunch reception (50 more), rates vary by venue and number of attendees.
Couples can enter via Facebook electronic form and then give fans a chance to get them know them better by posting a photo and why they are deserving of a South Tahoe adventure wedding on the Tahoe Wedding Sites Wall by 11:59 p.m. Feb. 1, 2012. Because the winner's wedding weekend will be designed by Facebook fans, Tahoe Wedding Sites want to be certain they are selecting someone that will enjoy the adventure, so couples are encouraged to post on the wall and to be as creative as possible.
A contestant submitted their innovative entry with: “6: Years since my fiancé and I first locked eyes; 10: Days since I said, “YES;” 11,000: Feet I would climb to be with him; 22: Miles I would swim to make him happy; 39 Trillion: Gallons of lake water I would drink to marry him IN Tahoe!”
Another fan commented: “England and America met to form a special relationship here in Tahoe. A sunshine serenade on a secret beach led to a proposal. A beach wedding would be the perfect beginning to married life together.”
Three finalists will be selected. Each of those finalists will submit a: 30-second to one-minute homemade video that either re-enacts their marriage proposal or shows why they are an “adventure couple” to convince Facebook viewers why they should win the grand prize. Fans will vote and the winner will be determined by the most number of ‘likes’ and ‘comments.’ The couple will be announced the week of March 5, 2012.
Not getting married? Beginning mid-March every week Facebook fans can vote on various elements of the wedding, including the cake, photographer, DJ, flowers as well as adventurous and pampering activities i.e.: kayaking, biking, horseback riding, boat cruises, sightseeing tours or spa treatments. The bride and groom can sit back and relax while Facebook’s active users help plan all the details of their wedding weekend.
