South Lake Tahoe Receives More Than a Foot of Powder; Another 3-5 Feet of Snow Above 7,000 in the Forecast
Feb. 27, 2018 (SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev.) – Tahoe South area ski resorts received 10-14 inches of snow overnight with another 3-5 feet possible above 7,000’ and 2-3 feet at 6,000’ through Saturday. According to NOAA, a strong storm system is anticipated with the majority of snowfall expected Thursday during the day and overnight. A winter storm watch remains in effect from late Wednesday through Saturday morning. (http://tahoesouth.com/).
“With 2-3 feet total this past week and forecasts for more, this is setting up to be the strongest storm system of the year,” said Carol Chaplin, president and CEO of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. “We’re hopeful a ‘Miracle March’ comes to fruition to significantly increase our snowpack.”

During snowfall, a fleet of city and state snow removal vehicles work around the Lake Tahoe Basin to keep roads clear and safe for travel. Check Caltrans www.dot.ca.gov and Nevada Department of Transportation http://nvroads.com and www.tahoeroads.com for current road conditions, including any temporary closures.
