Forecast Calls for 1-3 Feet; Tahoe South Ski Resorts Anticipate More Terrain Will Open
Dec. 9, 2014 (SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev.) It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas as this week’s forecast calls 1-3 feet of powder above 7,000 feet (https://tahoesouth.com/). According to NOAA, the system will produce significant snow in the Sierra with an increase in intensity Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday afternoon. A slight chance of snow followed by mostly sunny skies is predicted for the weekend (www.noaa.gov).
The previous storm system the first week of December delivered more than a foot of snow at South Shore resorts, allowing them to open and expand operations.
“Winter is here and we offer a morning until night experience from great skiing/riding to top-rated après spots and evening entertainment,” said Carol Chaplin, executive director at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority.
