Cupid, Presidents and New Snow Combine for “Party-Sin” Weekend at Tahoe South
South Shore “in love” with 16-20 inches of new snow at area ski resorts
Feb. 10, 2015 (SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev.) What do George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Cupid have in common? A three-day Lake Tahoe love affair this weekend. (www.TahoeSouth.com)
The recent snowfall and an infrequent quirk of the calendar represent a rarely welcomed entry of politics into romance. Consensual pleasures at South Shore take on a whole new meaning with the area’s combination of the great outdoors and indoors. Special ski and lodging packages, intimate dining and lakefront restaurants, entertainment, dancing, gaming and events highlight a major weekend of options for visitors.
With a return to typical Tahoe winter weather, 16—20 inches of new snow over the past 72 hours blanketed the area’s three resorts: Heavenly, Kirkwood and Sierra-at-Tahoe. Sunny skies and clear roads are in the forecast through the weekend making access convenient. The Lake level is 2.64 inches shy of the natural rim. “South Shore is full of anticipation and smiles now with the fresh snow and sunny skies,” said Carol Chaplin, executive director of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. “The pent-up demand is expected to be released with perfect timing heading into the holiday weekend.”
While accommodations are still available, phone and website activity (www.TahoeSouth.com) have picked up significantly portending a vibrant affair.
