A winter storm is heading our way

Lake Tahoe Snow Report: After days of sunshine and warmer temperatures, winter is returning to Tahoe this week!

To all of you who've spent the last two weeks working on your snow dance moves - THANK YOU.

The National Weather Service is predicting potentially 1-2 feet for the ski resorts, and we couldn't be happier. Wednesday's forecast is calling for accumulations of 5 to 9 inches of new snow overnight! In addition, there is a winter storm watch in effect Wednesday and Thursday.

Timing: a mix of rain and snow will begin Wednesday afternoon becoming all snow Wednesday night. The heaviest snow is expected between 10 pm and 8 am where snowfall rates could briefly reach 2 to 3 inches per hour.

Snow Accumulations: 12 to 20 inches above 7000 feet with 4 to 10 inches between 6000 and 7000 feet...including Lake Tahoe. Highest accumulations will be along and west of Highway 89.

You can view the full 7-day forecast here. Additional information about impacts to the Tahoe region is available via SnowBrains.com.
