The Electronic Dance Music Scene at Tahoe South

Bass Camp events bring a high energy dance environment with world renowned Electronic Dance Music headliners to the shores of South Lake Tahoe. Previous headliners include Excision, Adventure Club, Datsik, and Nero and that is only the start of what's to come. The owner of Bass Camp, Paul Reder has transformed the EDM scene in South Lake Tahoe since the early 2000’s and he looks to continue to host festivals and shows into the foreseen future. Exciting plans for 2018 include a multiple day EDM festivals located in the gorgeous setting of South Lake Tahoe.

The Loft

In the meantime, you can catch weekly shows held at The Loft which typically features deep house and techno. The Loft is a key destination for anyone looking to avoid the top 40 playlist’s that are found in most of the surrounding clubs and bars but still desire a city vibe. With no cover and an exciting new dance environment, The Loft should be on your list of clubs to see while in South Lake Tahoe. Resident DJ, Roger That has been able to bring a unique flair to The Loft by continually stretching the boundaries of house and techno music in a way that can draw in any music lover.

With the rapid evolution of the West Coast Bass scene, Tyler Mikkelsen, owner of HakunamaTahoe has been able to provide the Tahoe South area with unmatched bass events which happen monthly. He has continued to bring diverse bass producers such as Nastynasty, Chase Manhattan, and Partywave to the shores of Tahoe. Much of his focus has been directed towards creating a community vibe that draws upon the talent of many local individuals. HakkunamaTahoe has cultivated an environment that's one of a kind, from the free tea lounge to the top of the line sound and visual production, these events should not be missed!  On August 10, HakunamaTahoe will be bringing a stacked lineup with CloZee and Charlesthefirst headlining at the Tahoe Beach Retreat.

Benjah Ninjah

South Lake Tahoe producer Benjah Ninjah has been a staple in the local west coast bass scene. He describes the South Lake Tahoe bass scene as being fresh and continually developing, which is what makes being part of it so exciting. A differentiating aspect of west coast bass shows is the continual feeling of unison that is brought through the positive vibes of everyone attending. As Benjah said, “The music is just part of it, the vibe is with the people.” Through the collaboration of so many talented and dedicated individuals, these events are able to improve in size and quality each and every time. Benjah looks to continually advance his musical abilities to bring a more dynamic sound each time he plays in South Lake Tahoe.
