Four Lake Tahoe Backgrounds For Video Conferencing

By: Alex Silgalis

If you’ve been watching TV shows like the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon or ESPN’s Get Up, the biggest thing to happen is the video conferencing abilities of a company called ZOOM. And after seeing Trevor Noah talking to Jimmy Fallon with the Golden Gate bridge behind him, it got us thinking. Wouldn’t it be great if you could use REAL Lake Tahoe backgrounds on your video calls? After looking through our library of fun, we’ve picked our favorites based on activities so YOU can use them for free on ZOOM calls.

What Is Zoom?

For many of us, you may have heard about ZOOM and are like “What is it?” Well, it’s a cloud-based (i.e. on the internet) video and conferencing system that you can use to virtually meet with others. Video conferencing has been around a LONG time with companies like WebEx and GoToMeeting being used mainly for business. The BIG difference today on why it’s become popular is because you can hold a 40-minute meeting for FREE.

Lake Tahoe Virtual Backgrounds For Zoom

For those of you who want to show your love of Lake Tahoe on ZOOM or other video conferencing apps, you can download the following custom backgrounds.

Kiva Beach – Beach Bum

As the largest alpine lake in the U.S. and second deepest after Crater Lake in Oregon, the beach life in Tahoe is unlike any other mountain destination in the world. In fact, we have the best climate for each season. When the words describing our beaches feature things like white sands, turquoise blue waves, and crystal-clear waters, you know you got something special. Check out the Lake Tahoe beach guide where we highlight some differences and similarities between South Lake Tahoe beaches & North Lake Tahoe beaches.

Van Sickle – Hikers & Bikers

The South Lake Tahoe region is filled with an extensive network of backcountry trails including the relative newcomer Van Sickle Bi-State Park. A few minutes from the casino corridor, you can literally enjoy some gaming and be in a natural setting in no time at all. From the legendary Tahoe Rim Trail to jaw-dropping wildflower strolls and even a host of waterfalls to take in, there’s something for everyone.

SnowGlobe Music Festival – Music Lover

Events and music are deeply ingrained in the Lake Tahoe culture so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we host the world’s largest NYE music festival in the nation – SnowGlobe. And in the summer, the events continue to heat up with free concerts at Lakeview Commons and of course the legendary outdoor summer concert series. Hosted by Harrah’s & Harveys, it features the biggest names in music such as Paul Simon, Lady Gaga, and The Who. Each one of these and many more is part of our personal bucket list that you should consider doing when visiting Lake Tahoe.

Heavenly Mountain – The Diehard Skier & Snowboarder

When it comes to powder hounds and sun lovers, they know Lake Tahoe is the best in the West. So, showcase your love for skiing & snowboarding the slopes of Heavenly Mountain. While we’re on the subject, might as well start creating your bucket list of trails to hit next winter and get the scoop on how to traverse Heavenly Mountain like a pro.

We can’t stress this enough, thank you SO MUCH for staying away and doing your part to keep Lake Tahoe healthy. As we’ve said before, we’ll be the first to welcome you back to our mountain playground. Until then, stay safe, healthy, and happy.
