Live at Lakeview summer concert series – Latino night
This week’s Live at Lakeview Summer Concert Series was geared toward a totally different segment of the Tahoe population and I thought it was awesome. It is estimated that South Lake Tahoe’s Hispanic population hovers around 30%. They make up a vibrant and important, but under-served and forgotten segment of our local community. I was thrilled to see that after a summer of mostly white faces, the dance floor and seats were filled with those who had never been to one of the summer concerts. When Rob asked the crowd how many folks were attending for the first time, over half the audience’s hands went up!
Local bands Tahoe Musical & Los Barranqueños Del Norte played and by the end of the evening the dance floor was filled with both young and old. These are my favorite photos from the evening, but as always, you can see the entire summer series here.
This coming Thursday marks the end of the summer concert series. I’m looking forward to all things fall, including pumpkin bread, soups and stews and having fires again, but sad to see our summer concerts go!
