Fun for all at the 25th Anniversary Valhalla Renaissance Faire
The Valhalla Renaissance Faire is an annual tradition in South Lake Tahoe - one that has been going strong for over two decades.
Does stepping back in time to the Elizabethan era, wandering amongst people dressed as pirates, scoundrels, and knights sound intriguing? If so, get your costume ready for this year's Valhalla Renaissance Faire at Camp Richardson!
Every year, more than 8,000 visitors gather at the Valhalla Renaissance Faire. With the Queen of England, juggling jesters, pirates, lords and ladies and jousting presentations by the Imperial Knights, you don't have to be a kid to find the entertainment value, though it is certainly a family friendly event. More than 1,000 actors provide this entertainment annually. There are hundreds of crafts booths on site to shop from, games for kids to play and presentations of dance, song, plays, puppet shows and more.
Mark your calendars - the 2017 Valhalla Renaissance Faire will be held June 10th and 11th. It's a perfect time to visit Tahoe South with your family: you can camp nearby in the Camp Richardson or Fallen Leaf Lake camp grounds, visit the beach, bike and play, and go to the Renaissance Fair all on the same weekend! Festivities begin at 10 AM on Saturday June 10th and end at 6 PM on Saturday and 5 PM on Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, military, and teens 13-17, $8 for kids 6-12, and free for children under 6.
Parking near the faire fills up very quickly, on a first-come first-serve basis. The alternative to this, is to park at the Y shopping area, where there will be a shuttle service running to the faire.
