Guests will receive a complimentary Hard Rock neck gaiter for the upcoming ski season to keep riders warm on the slopes, and persons over 21 will receive a complimentary domestic draft beer with Backstage Pass at the free event. An after-party and happy hour in Center Bar begins at 10 p.m.
The “Christina” dropped anchor at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in late October after sailing the Playa as an art car for the last eight years. The noteworthy location poolside for the “Christina” required special access: a section of a 12-foot concrete wall was removed to accommodate the 21-foot wide, 65-foot long, 25-foot high boat. A celebration to mark her return included a VIP charity event benefitting Tahoe Fund and Artech followed by a weekend of parties with acclaimed EDM musicians.
The “Christina” was brought back to life by South Lake Tahoe snowplow operator and construction company owner Flipper Manchester. Originally hired to dismantle and demolish the yacht, he instead spent $35,000 of his own money to convert it into an art car to sail along the Playa. It will be stationed at the Hard Rock through the 2019/20 winter season.
