Thursday, July 4, 2024, The American Pyrotechnics Association rates South Shore’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks celebration one of the top five displays in the nation. The show is scheduled to begin at 9:45 PM. The fireworks are visible from all over town. Below are some of the sweet spots to get a front-row seat.

The view from the lake is probably the most spectacular.

The M.S. Dixie II: South Shore’s Mississippi paddle wheeler offers a unique opportunity to view the light show from the water. Features live entertainment and fantastic views of the evening’s display. Log onto www.laketahoecruises.com.

Join Tahoe Cruises aboard their luxury 80-foot motor yacht, the Safari Rose, for the Fireworks Cruise! Nevada Beach: Located about two miles east of the Nevada casinos on Elk Point Road, Nevada Beach is the ideal setting for a family barbecue at the beach. A wide, sandy shoreline leads down to the sapphire waters of Lake Tahoe. The view across the lake to the West Shore and Desolation Wilderness is unsurpassed. And the view of the fireworks display is one of the best in town.

Timber Cove Marina at the Tahoe Beach Retreat & Lodge: Offering front row seating that fills up fast.

The Tallac Historic Site: Off Emerald Bay Road, has an east-view perspective with nearby Baldwin Beach. For the more adventurous, the top of Mount Tallac offers a bird’s eye view of the fireworks extravaganza, but don’t forget your headlamp for the trek back down.

Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach:  Offering front-row seating that fills up fast. Corner of Hwy 50 and Lakeview Ave.

Area officials advise viewers to plan ahead, consider alternative modes of transportation, and take all trash and belongings when the show concludes.

Please respect the environment and only leave your footprints behind. You might also consider helping with the Keep Tahoe Red, White, and Blue Beach Clean-up program on July 5th. If you are interested in details, please email events@keeptahoeblue.org.

The show will feature a spectacular array of explosive formations and pairing musical sounds of American classics and today’s top hits to perfectly executed pyrotechnics broadcast live from KRLT-FM.93.9.

“The fourth of July weekend is shaping up to be another Tahoe family tradition with a parade, beach time, live music, outdoor recreation and fireworks overlooking the lake,” said Carol Chaplin, president and CEO of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. Area officials anticipate heavy traffic volume throughout the holiday week, and highly recommend alternative modes of transit: Lake Link, rideshare, bike, walk, etc. We recommend that visitors have a back-up plan if parking areas/beaches/trailheads are full, take trash with them, and check out our Know Before You Go page with any pertinent information, updates and tips to have a memorable and safe holiday weekend.”

The City of South Lake Tahoe’s Fourth of July parade is on Thursday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. U.S. Highway 50 will be closed westbound between Ski Run Boulevard to Al Tahoe Blvd during the parade.
