The Tahoe Chamber’s annual GO Local & Win contest is kicking off on Small Business Saturday, November 30, and the South Shore business community is invited to join the movement! For business owners and operators, this campaign provides an opportunity to promote your brand, expand your customer base, and connect with customers in a fun, interactive way.

GO Local & Win Campaign

Instead of going online or off the hill for shopping, the GO Local contest helps to keep local residents thinking about our small businesses throughout the holidays. Contestants enter by picking up a GO Local & Win passport at participating businesses or downloading one online and then collecting stamps for every $25 spent at a participating business. The contest will continue throughout December and end on January 1st when contestants will be turning in completed passports to be eligible for up to $500 in cash prizes.

“Consistent with our mission to develop and promote business, this is our way of adding an extra measure of fun to the holidays, while also educating residents on the importance of shopping, dining, and spending locally,” said Emily Abernathy, Tahoe Chamber Director of Operations.

Last year’s campaign was successful in encouraging spending in our community throughout the holiday season thanks to the help of our 65 participating restaurants, retailers, and recreation businesses. Last January the Tahoe Chamber received over 50 completed passports, representing $15,000 dollars spent locally. This year, the Chamber aims to increase that spending by increasing the number and variety of participating businesses, as well as offering more fun ways for contestants to GO Local.

Business participation in the GO Local & Win campaign is free for Tahoe Chamber members, and $75 for non-members. Each participating business will receive a GO Local kit including passports, stamps, signage, and resources that will help them promote their business to participants. To learn more about GO Local and to sign up to be a GO Local business, visit TahoeChamber.org. Sign up to participate before November 18 to get your business listed today.

The GO Local & Win holiday contest would not be possible without the help of our Community Sponsors, The City of South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County, and The Crossing at Tahoe Valley.
