South Tahoe standup paddleboarding

-by Vanessa Vancour

I had heard so much hype about standup paddleboarding I decided to try it out for myself this summer.

I did a search and found South Tahoe Standup Paddleboard. They're super active on Facebook, which is where I got info for the women's night.

A few of my friends and I went up on a Monday night and for $20 got a board, a quick lesson and night of paddling! It is such a beautiful way to explore South Lake Tahoe, and in mid-August, the water is just perfect for swimming. If you're feeling more competitive, check out their other events - they have races, group lessons and BBQs on Regan Beach. And while you're there, you HAVE to have tacos from Lake Tahoe. You won't regret it.
