Heavenly Holidays

Every year around the end of November through New Year’s, Heavenly Village offers up fun for children and adults alike with what’s called Heavenly Holidays. Christmas lights adorn the shops and decorations are festooned all around the town. Throughout the month of December, expect to see a tree lighting, fireworks, live music, rail jams, train rides, special performances, and more! There’s so much to do during Heavenly Holidays, you might have to extend your trip to fit it all in. The culmination of these festivities is the New Year’s Eve celebration.

New Year’s Eve – Twice The Fun

On New Year’s Eve, live music begins at 2 p.m. on the Gondola Plaza just below the slopes of Heavenly Mountain. At 9 p.m., just in time for the midnight ball drop in New York City’s Time Square, except the Tahoe South’s version happens. Instead of a ball, it’s the Heavenly Gondola Drop! A decorated gondola descends from the slopes, crossing the crowd and enters into the gondola station. This kicks off a spectacular fireworks display in the Heavenly Village and is rung in by a top music artist. And the best part is you can enjoy ringing in the New Year twice by continuing the party at one of the many nightclubs or casinos.
