Spooner Lake Cross Country Ski Area offers fun for people of all ages and ability levels. Whether you want easy to moderate trails, or day long treks into the back country, or even an overnight in a wilderness cabin, Spooner has something for you. Located one-half mile on Highway 28 from Highway 50 on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe near Spooner Summit. Ski & Showshoe Rentals available.

With temperatures in the 50s under a cloudless blue sky, the temptation to rent bikes and set out for the beautiful Tahoe beaches was real. Still, we traveled from Colorado to California to ski, and ski we did.
