Restaurant Week – Best of Fine Dining
September is upon us, which means Tahoe South Restaurant Week is just around the corner. We are highlighting some fine dining favorites, as part of the remarkable list of participating restaurants.
Bear Moon Bar & Grill’s menu starts off a refreshing three-course meal with a golden beet arugula salad. Then enjoy the pan seared scallops with apple-celery root puree, grilled asparagus, and carrot ginger nage. Finish with their infamous peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle.
Cafe Fiore offers a four-course menu where the guests can decide between a couple options. The two entrees available are a fisherman style swordfish or New Zealand lamb chops. Start with a selection of salads and end with either homemade white chocolate ice cream or tiramisu.
The Chart House showcases their house specialties with the choice of prime rib, coco shrimp, macadamia chicken or blackened snapper. The prix fixe menu includes one of their indulgent desserts: creme brulee, mini mud or raspberry sorbet.
Ciera Steak + Chophouse inside Mont Bleu starts the meal with either French onion soup, lobster bisque or Caesar salad. For the main course, choose between the grilled Alaskan king salmon, the New York strip loin or the vegetable terrine. The sweet finale includes either a pina colada cheesecake or chocolate lava cake.
The Fresh Ketch features a couple of specialty seafood dishes. The first offering is bacon wrapped scallops with pesto mashed potatoes and veggies in a rich bur blanc sauce. The other option is a grilled salmon with rice and asparagus sauteed in a baby shrimp bur blanc sauce.
Friday's Station inside Harrah’s starts the three-course menu with blackened prawns, followed by a choice between peppercorn-crusted ribeye steak or apple wood smoked free range chicken breast. The delicious dessert is a Dutch apple tart.
Jimmy's Restaurant at the Landing offers a complimentary wine pairing by the house sommelier with the guest's entrees.
Mirabelle at Lake Tahoe pairs each of the four courses with a Seasonal Brew from New Glory Brewing Company. The first course is a late summer ratatouille with grilled farmhouse style bread. A hearty bowl of the roasted pumpkin soup with maple-glazed pork belly will be the second course. The entree offered is the goat fricassee served with rancho gordo beans, house dried tomatoes, and pearl onions. For dessert dig into the porter-laced ice cream sandwich.
Park Prime inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s menu begins with a choice between the house salad, mushroom bisque or daily kettle special. The main course offers either the rosemary oven roasted pork, the slow braised beef ossobuco or the balsamic grilled Colombian salmon. Finish with a poached pear or New York cheesecake.
Primo's Italian Bistro is serving a fresh zucchini salad or fried shrimp cake as appetizers, followed by either short-rib risotto or stuffed eggplant. The pumpkin ricotta pie will finish the meal off nicely.
Riva Grill’s four-course menu begins with a palate tantalizing amuse of jalapeno watermelon aqua fresca. The appetizer is pistachio chevre crusted portobellos and macerated kale salad finished with lemon foam. For the entree enjoy a grilled pork tenderloin with a bourbon peach reduction, braised baby carrots, and fennel potato gratin. Dessert offers a peach blackberry crisp topped with vanilla ice cream and honey drizzle.
