Since 2009, the Alta Alpina Challenge has provided bike riders with the opportunity to ride through the beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. This year, the Alta Alpina Challenge will be held on June 29, and rides will start and finish in Markleeville, California. Organizers have continually enhanced this event with five goals in mind:
- to showcase the roads that club members love
- to offer a compelling challenge
- to make safety a priority
- to be family- and community-friendly
- to provide a great experience with great food
2013 will mark the fifth annual Alta Alpina Challenge, and each year the number of participants grows. This year, close to 500 participants are expected to attend and take part in the different challenges offered. From the Family Fun Ride to the Eight Pass Challenge, the Alta Alpina Challenge has something to offer for everyone who wants to participate.
