Hooray for new snow! The recent round of winter weather brought more than a foot of fresh snow to Tahoe South ski resorts, and we are excited to get out and enjoy it. With weekend bluebird skies, rising temperatures in the forecast, and some fun events, it’s shaping up to be a great spring.
Sierra-at-Tahoe hosts its Women's Camp March 9-10. Featuring female pros teaching on-mountain ski and snowboard techniques, this camp is open to all women who sign up. Later this month, with spring break in full swing, Sierra hosts the College Shred Fest at the mountain March 23. The Billabong Flaunt It Finals will finalize an event filled season Saturday, April 6 with an all-girls Slopestyle and Rail Jam competition.
Kirkwood Mountain Resort is featuring its three-day Expedition: Kirkwood Women's Weekend, March 8-10; backcountry awareness clinic on March 16 and the Head-to-Head Ski Challenge, March 23.
The nation’s top moguls and aerials athletes will compete for the U.S. Freestyle National title at Heavenly Mountain Resort, March 29-31. Spring Loaded combines the best of spring and winter for two weeks beginning March 29, with loud tunes, vibrant outfits, pond skimming, concerts and the Gunbarrel 25. Shaun White is set to host the big air competition, High Roller Hold ‘Em, Saturday, April 6. The party will feature a DJ, fireworks, laser lights and the Heavenly Angels.
And as for nightlife, I know where I’ll be every Saturday night - Boogie Nights, a '70s and '80s-themed dance party at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. Dress in your best retro garb and glitter and shake your groove thing out on the Technicolor dance floor.
