I’ve lived here all my life and this view still takes my breath away.
When I have friends or family visiting, I love showing off the lake. I take them to Emerald Bay, ride the Heavenly Gondola and convince some of them to try paddle-boarding at Lakeview Commons in the summer. Sometimes I even time my drive from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport to catch the sunset from Cave Rock.
I always see great shots from all over South Lake Tahoe on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and have to ask exactly when and where it was taken. I can’t help myself. Sun, rain or fresh powder – it never gets old!
If you’ve been here, you know the feeling.
This is why we want to see your best shot of Tahoe South. May be you have a favorite spot? Or caught a rainbow over the lake? Enter it in our photo contest and show us why Lake Tahoe really is the “Best Lake in America.” You could win an awesome winter getaway.
Prize package includes:
- Two night stay at Park Tahoe Inn
- Two one-day ski passes at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort
- Two snowshoe/cross country ski rentals at Camp Richardson’s Mountain Sports Center
- Two Emerald Bay Day Cruise tickets from Lake Tahoe Cruises

Entering the contest is easy. Just follow this link, submit a photo of your trip to South Lake Tahoe and answer a couple questions. A panel from Tahoe South will pick their faves and then let voters decide the winner!
