Tahoe South's famed "Lights on the Lake" Fourth of July, an eye and sky candy extravaganza over Lake Tahoe, continues to generate international buzz, with the latest accolades coming from The Discovery Channel and Bing.com/MSN.
With the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe as a backdrop, the 24-minute display is set to digitized streamed music by radio stations KRLT 93.9 and KOWL 1490. The show begins at 9:45 p.m. with viewing space available around South Shore’s sandy beaches, including the new Lakeview Commons area, Nevada Beach, Timber Cove Marina, and Bijou Community Park.
With July 4 celebrated on Wednesday, plenty of activities are lined up for the entire holiday week:
Feeling witty -- Improv Players will be featured at the Valhalla Arts, Music & Theatre Festival, Tuesday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. Meanwhile a live stage performance of "God of Carnage" is set for Valhalla Boathouse Theatre on July 5-8.
Bluegrass music by Fruition will be featured during Live at Lakeview Free Summer Concert Series, Thursday, July 5 at the new Lakeview Commons, formerly El Dorado Beach, from 4 to 8:30 p.m.
South Shore offers plenty of laughs and entertainment with The Comedians From Chelsea Lately featuring Brad Wollack, Josh Wolf, and Jen Kirkman at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa; Nathan Owens Motown Legends at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, and Illusion Fusion, starring award-winning Master Magician Alex Ramon at the Horizon Casino Resort, all on Saturday, July 7 at 8 p.m.
Car classics are featured during the Cool Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Cruise at the Heavenly Village, 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 6. A local’s favorite, Market on the Run Farmers' Market is an organic food and music celebration on Ski Run Boulevard from 3 to 8 p.m.
