The first time I saw Robin Williams live I damn near fell out of my seat. His brilliant performance was a mile a minute and downright hilarious. I swear he told every jaw dropping joke that popped into his head.

Comedy is a tough business and Williams never disappoints. He is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite comedian. Lucky me! I’ve had the privilege of seeing him stand-up three times at the Grand Slam for Children in Las Vegas – each year better than the last.  He always brings the perfect combination of insane talent, speed and delivery to the stage. 

If you’ve never seen Williams perform, you may picture his somewhat subtle comedy on the big screen. Trust me; he is no “Mrs. Doubtfire” on stage.  Watching Williams perform stand-up is like being overdosed with laughing gas. He is best known for his unpredictable nature, political observations, and energetic illustrations of human anatomy.

Here are some of Williams’ quick, what I call “PG” one-liners:

• “Never pick a fight with an ugly person; they've got nothing to lose.”
• “If it's the Psychic Network why do they need a phone number?”
• “My God. We’ve had cloning in the south for years. It’s called cousins.”
• “Politics: Poli, a Latin word meaning many; and tics meaning, bloodsucking creatures.”

Williams’ performances may not be suitable for young children due to adult content. But if you love to laugh, be prepared to walk away feeling like you burned a million calories and did a thousand crunches. He truly is that funny.

I’m beyond excited to see the Academy Award-winning actor and multiple Grammy Award-winning performer for the fourth time inside the MontBleu Theatre with David Steinberg on Friday and Saturday, July 20-21 at the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. Doors open at 8 pm and the shows begin at 9:30 p.m. Tickets start at $100 and are available through Ticketmaster and MontBleu.
