Put your cell phone away (you’ll survive without it for a few hours) and spend Earth Day in South Lake Tahoe connecting with nature, learning about recycling, composting, alternative energy, water conservation and more.
Tahoe South celebrates Mother Earth with a day packed with family-friendly events at Bijou Park.
On April 28 come out and enjoy local live music, and let the kiddos explore the Kid Zone where they can make recycle-themed arts and crafts.
Or dress up your wee one to be entered to win a season pass to Kirkwood! The Eco-Costume parade will start on the main stage at 12:30 p.m.
Food and local crafts will be available for purchase, including raffle tickets for the huge Earth Day raffle.
The Sugar Pine Foundation will also be hosting a fun tree planting event at Bijou Park that day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sugar Pine seedlings, tools, instructions and snacks will be provided.
Park at the Lake Tahoe Community College and walk across Al Tahoe Blvd to enjoy Earth Day festivities and plant some sugar pines in Bijou Park.
Check Earth Day South Lake Tahoe's Facebook for more details.
After an afternoon of giving back to nature, be sure to also explore our local hikes to help you unplug for the day.
