Skiing, snowboarding, building a snowman, a family snowball fight and a trip to Lake Tahoe – sign us up!

My almost two year old twins, Liv and Mia, love reading about Paris and her twin sisters’ trip to Lake Tahoe. Paris, the inspiration behind the My Friend Paris books, is a 14-year-old girl living in the Bay Area. “Paris Goes to Lake Tahoe” is part of a children’s books series, four of which are designed for twins.

Liv and Mia are too young to remember last year’s snowfall so we had to read those pages (and the entire book for that matter) repeatedly. They keep saying, “What’s that, mommy?”

The book explores the four seasons, Tahoe’s sporty culture, and the famed Fourth of July firework display. I love listening to the girls tell the story based on their interpretation of the drawings.

481 - paris4.jpgI also enjoy watching Liv and Mia get excited about Paris and her family boating on Lake Tahoe and making s’mores over the bonfire. I grew up camping, canoeing and fishing. As they get older, I look forward to creating childhood memories for them out on the lake, slopes, and campground.

It hasn’t been easy finding children’s books designed for twins so I was thrilled to learn about the My Friend Paris series. We also own “My Twins First Christmas” and “My Twins are Coming Home.”

“Paris Goes to Lake Tahoe” has easy to read storylines. It’s a great book for young children, beginning readers, and kids gearing up for a family vacation to Tahoe. It’s also a fun way for kids to learn about things to do in the area.

You can buy the books at Barnes & Noble and Amazon, or you can enter to win a copy of “Paris Goes to Lake Tahoe” on our blog. To enter, leave a comment below sharing your favorite Tahoe memory with us. To be considered for an extra entry, Tweet about this blog using the hashtag #TahoeMemories.
