Regan Beach is a couple of blocks down Lakeview Avenue at Sacramento Avenue and has restrooms, handicapped restrooms, picnic facilities, a snack bar, volleyball, playground and grassy areas. No parking fee.

Lake Baron for fishing opportunities as well as excellent calm water for skiing or wake boarding. Tennis courts and the clubhouse, which features a wading pool and full size roasting spit. The lower section, along the banks of the Upper Truckee River, holds the playground, ball field, basketball court, and a large picnic area with group and individual areas. The park is administered by the Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District (530) 577-9881 and the clubhouse or group areas can be reserved through that number. Directions - Follow Hwy 50 from South Lake Tahoe to Meyers. Turn right on Apache Drive just before the agricultural checkpoint. Turn left when the road ends, head to the end.

Taylor Creek Visitor Center and Stream Profile Chamber

Located on Hwy 89 three miles north of South Lake Tahoe offers numerous self-guided trails with award winning signs. An underground chamber features a cut-away of the stream so visitors can view fish behind the glass. Take the 1/2 mile loop on the fully accessible Rainbow Trail to see the chamber. Bijou Community Park

A mile off Hwy 50 is Bijou Community Park with playground, group picnic shelters, bandstand/gazebo, fitness trail, horseshoe pits, game court area, sand volleyball courts, skateboard park (helmets and pads required), 27-hole disc golf course and a central concession/restroom building.

Offer the most breathtaking views of the lake, the mountains, and Tahoe's only island - Fannette Island. Both of these parks have campgrounds, opportunities for hiking, swimming, fishing, and interpretive activities. The D.L. Bliss State Park has a wonderful beach on Rubicon Bay which is also a trailhead for the Rubicon Point Trail that continues to Vikingsholm Castle- the most popular attraction on the west end of Emerald Bay. 63,475-acre wilderness area with hundreds of glacial lakes, sub-Alpine forests, valleys and granite peaks. Visitors will find Desolation in its natural form and on its own terms - meaning sudden storms, fires and other hazards may be encountered. Required wilderness permits can be obtained and self-issued at most of the trailheads for day hikes, or at U.S. Forest Service offices on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe for overnights.
